The Eleanor Kolitz Academy is a community, K-8 Jewish day school. Since 1973, it has provided students with an excellent secular and Judaic education. Graduates have matriculated at numerous top rated colleges.

Governance

The EKA is governed by a board of directors responsible for developing school policy and fundraising. Board members represent all segments of community life and include community leaders, parents, and others dedicated to EKA's vision and purposes.

Funding

The cost of educating a child at the EKA is not covered by tuition alone. The school receives generous funding from the Jewish Federation of San Antonio, which provides funds for programming and for scholarships. Additional funds from fundraising are essential to the EKA. Parents are expected to participate in fundraising.

Facilities

The EKA's home is located at the Harry and Jeannette Weinberg Campus of the San Antonio Jewish Community at 12500 NW Military Hwy. Suite 150, San Antonio, Texas 78231. Phone (210) 302-6900 Fax (210) 302-6913. Our facilities include spacious classrooms, a science lab, computer lab, and a modern playground. We share the JCC gymnasium and we also enjoy use of the JCC tennis courts, playing fields, pool, cafeteria, library and auditorium.

Child Care

After school care is available through the JCC's ASAC (After School Activity Center).  Mondays through Thursdays (3:50-5:00), the EKA has a homework lab that students may attend for a nominal fee.

Meals

Children bring or purchase dairy lunches on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and meat or parve (neither meat nor dairy) lunches on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students are also encouraged to bring a morning snack.

Accreditation

Eleanor Kolitz Academy is a constituent agency of the Jewish Federation of San Antonio and is a member of the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS) and Texas Association of Non-Public Schools(TANS)
